Immigration amnesty/guest worker bill in Congress

One thing about this proposed guest worker/amnesty stuff I'm confused about: would the employers of these illegals now have to chip in for their Social Security, unemployment, etc.? If so (and I would think it is 'so'), isn't that a significant new cost to have these employees? What does the Wall Street Journal have to say about this (I don't have a subscription)?

I think that you hit the nail on the head. The reason congress DOESN'T want a valid program at all (meaning they want the guest worker program to fail) is that employers would be hugely affected.

If you suddenly make millions of workers legal you now have to pay them a better wage, SS, taxes, and maybe even some benefits depending on the hours they work per week.
